Reel Time trivia winner hails from Lake Stevens

Congratulations to Duane Perry of Lake Stevens who is this week’s Reel Time Trivia winner, and answered first by saying it was the “Lake Goodwin.”

Perry started fishing when he was about five-years-old, thanks to his late father “AKA Pineapple from Maui” with a cane pole in search of trout in the streams of Kittitas County.

“A few years later, dad bought a cabin at Washaway Beach (near Willapa Bay on the southern coast) where we dug razor clams and charter fished out of Westport,” Perry said. “My best was a 32-pound king! He then sold the cabin just in time. Next was squid jigging Edmonds, and smelting on the Cowlitz.”

Perry would also hunt for deer and elk in the Colockum Hills where his (father’s) ashes are spread.

“Lately, I enjoy kayak fishing for trout. Lakes such as Bosworth, Blackmans, Langlois, etc.,” Perry said. “I caught my first humpy this year with a total of 22 on my card year to date. I’m also a recent member of the Snohomish Sportsmens Club where I photograph events such as the Everett Coho Derby.”

Perry wins a nice outdoor book.

This will be an ongoing weekly trivia contest through the summer and early fall where the winner who answers the question first will receive an outdoor prize that will range from books, Berkley bait, lures and other nifty items from the outdoors gunnysack.

The next trivia question will posted on Monday, Oct. 31 (BOO!). Winners are announced the following Friday.
