Kennedy Creek chum salmon returning, and offers the public a chance to view them

With fall in the air that means the chum salmon are starting to migrate back to Kennedy Creek in southern Puget Sound.

The public is invited to view fish along the interpretive salmon trail as volunteer guides will be on hand to provide information on spawning salmon characteristics and behavior, native plants, and the natural history of the site.

The area will be manned with volunteers from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on weekends Oct. 29 to Nov. 27, plus Veteran’s Day and the day after Thanksgiving (closed Thanksgiving Day).

For more information, visit the South Puget Sound Salmon Enhancement Group website.
