Lower Klickitat River night closure added to the sport fishery

State Fish and Wildlife has added a night closure to the Lower Klickitat River from the Fisher Hill Bridge downstream.

Fishing will now be allowed from one hour before official sunrise to one hour after official sunset through Jan. 31.

The reason is a large number of coho are staging in this area, and a night closure is needed to help maintain an orderly fishery.

An anti-snagging rule will also remain in effect.
