Support needed for revival of Point No Point boat launch

For those who’ve been wondering if the possibility of seeing the Point No Point boat launch becoming a reality again might want to attend an upcoming public meeting.

Norm Reinhardt, President of the Kitsap Poggie Club says there will be a public meeting 10 a.m. Nov. 10 at the Kitsap County Commissioners Chamber located in the Administration Building in Port Orchard concerning the permit for the boat launch.

The examiner will be taking comment from the public in support or opposition to the launch.

The concern by Reinhardt is that the Commissioners office has sent this notice to all the people who gave them an e-mail address, and most on that routing are almost entirely opposed to this launch.

“That means that many of the rest of us don’t know about the hearing, so we cannot voice our support of this launch,” Reinhardt said in an email. “The only testimony that the Examiner hears is ‘opposed’ to the launch.”

E-mail in of support for this project can be sent to Karen Ashcraft, the Hearing Examiner secretary at kashcraf@co.kitsap.wa.us.

Visit the Kitsap Poggie website for any changes to the date, time or site of the meeting.
