Reel Time trivia winner hails from Snohomish

Congratulations to Tony Gades of Snohomish who is this week’s Reel Time Trivia winner, and answered first by saying it was the “Cranberry Lake.”

“I grew up in Minnesota fishing walleye in lakes with my dad and brother,” Gades said. “I moved to Seattle 20 years ago to go to graduate school at UW, and quickly got into river fishing for salmon and steelhead.”

“Soon after that I began to focus on fly-fishing for steelhead in the rivers,” Gades said. “In the late 90s, I got access to a friend’s boat and then ultimately bought boats myself – this boat access helped me to turn a lot of focus to fly-fishing for salmon in the saltwater.”

Gades now makes a few trips a year to Neah Bay, and does a lot of conventional gear/mooching for salmon in Puget Sound as well.

Gades wins a nice outdoor book.

This will be an ongoing weekly trivia contest where the winner who answers the question first will receive an outdoor prize that will range from books, Berkley bait, lures and other nifty items from the outdoors gunnysack.

The next trivia question will posted on Monday, Dec. 5. Winners are announced the following Friday.

Here are our rules for The Seattle Times contest.
