Congratulations to Steven Buhler of Olympia who is this week’s Reel Time Trivia winner.
The trivia question of the week was:
This small little town sits on the southwest corner of the state, and comes alive in the spring, summer and early fall for anglers pursuing salmon and other fishing activities.
There is a huge marina, and when you come out of the port looking to the east you can see one of the longer spanning bridges that people cross over by vehicles, and anglers criss-cross under when pursuing salmon in late summer. A view to the west is one of the most treacherous places a boat can cross when heading into the mighty Pacific Ocean.
The correct answer Buhler gave was Ilwaco.
“I learned how to fish a as kid, fly fishing for trout on small streams in Utah,” Buhler said. “I moved to Washington two years ago because of the military, and spend most of my free time fishing for salmon and steelhead.”
Buhler recently bought a boat, and spent much of this past summer and fall chasing kings on the Nisqually Delta and pinks and chums in Hood Canal
“When I have time my favorite river in Washington is the Hoh,” Buhler said.
Buhler wins a nice outdoor book.
This will be an ongoing weekly trivia contest where the winner who answers the question first will receive an outdoor prize that will range from books, Berkley bait, lures and other nifty items from the outdoors gunnysack.
