Word on winter steelhead fishing in northern coastal rivers

Here are the latest winter steelhead fish check by state Fish and Widlife from the northern Olympic coastal rivers.

Quillayute/Bogachiel River: 21 bank anglers and 37 boat anglers Jan. 9-12 caught 18 steelhead and released seven for a total of 276.5 hours fished.

Calawah River: Four boat anglers Jan. 9-12 released two steelhead for a total of 23.0 hours fished.

Sol Duc River: 10 bank anglers and 22 boat Jan. 9-12 caught 14 steelhead and released 33 for a total of 195.5 hours fished.

Lower Hoh River from Oxbow Campground to Barlow’s: 15 bank anglers and three boat anglers Jan. 9-12 released one steelhead for a total of 48.5 hours fished.

Upper Hoh River from Oxbow Campground to Olympic National Park Boundary: Eight bank anglers caught no fish for a total of 20.0 hours fished.
