Learn how to fly-fish, tie flies and more at upcoming seminars and classes

There are two free seminars 1 p.m. March 24 at the Orvis Store, 10223 N.E. 10th Street in Bellevue. Rory Seiter will teach how to fish nymphs more effectively for trout, and Leland Miyawaki will tie and talk about fishing poppers on Puget Sound beaches for wild coastal cutthroat trout. The Washington Fly Fishing Club is offering a Beginning Six-Week Fly Casting Class taught by Federation of Fly Fishing Certified Casting Instructors and other WFFC members beginning April 5, and an Advanced Four-Week Fly Casting Class begins April 4. Both are held 6:30 p.m.-8 p.m. at the Green Lake Casting Pier. Cost is $50, and limited spaces are available. For details, call 253-350-5085.

Wholesale Sports Outdoor Outfitters in Federal Way is hosting a Beginning Fly Casting Class titled “The Fundamentals of Fly Casting,” 10 a.m.-3:30 p.m. March 25. Instructor Darrel Martin, a certified by the Federation of Fly-Fishers (USA) and Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructor along with store staff will lead the class. Cost is $50.
