Lower Columbia spring chinook angler effort increasing along with catch

Here are the latest catch figures for the Lower Columbia River spring chinook sport fishery through Sunday, March 11.

An estimated 32,800 angler trips have produced 693 chinook kept and 216 released. 422 (61-percent) of the fish kept were upriver stock based on Visual Stock Identification (VSI). In addition, 367 steelhead have been kept and 271 released.

Prior to the run update allocation of upriver fish, including release mortalities, will be 12,700 fish for the recreational fishery below Bonneville Dam.
