Looks like some hatchery chinook have reappeared in northern Puget Sound.
Pete Sergeef with state Fish and Wildlife who fished aboard the test fishery boat on Wednesday reported they caught three legal-size chinook – two at Point No Point, and one at Eglon-Pilot Point.
“There wasn’t any baitfish, but we caught some fish,” he said.
Sergeef says the test boat did catch a nice 16 pound hatchery chinook on Sunday off Possession Bar.
Gary Krein, owner of All-Star Charters fished on Saturday, and caught one legal size chinook at the Bait Box on the south east side of Whidbey Island, and got reports of fish caught at Columbia Beach.
