Coastal razor clam diggers could find more than just clams on beaches

Coastal razor clam diggers heading to the coast this weekend might find more than clams to bring home.

“We’ve been hearing about glass balls (from commercial fishing boats) washing ashore lately,” said Dan Ayres, the head state Fish and Wildlife coastal shellfish manager.

“One of the guys (a retired biologist) who used to work in our office got a big glass ball near Ocean Shores, and there have been others found,” Ayres said.
