Three southwest region lakes get trout plants this week to boost fishing opportunity

Those planning on heading to southwest Washington might want to pack along a rod and reel.

Lake Sacajawea in Longview was planted 1,998 brown trout on April 4.

Horseshoe Lake in Woodland received 6,831 rainbow trout and 2,001 brown trout on April 3-4.

Maryhill Pond in Klickitat County got 510 rainbow trout on April 3.
