Potholes Reservoir region fishing starting to heat up in some places, but slow in others

Here is the weekly report from Mike Meseberg at MarDon Resort at the Potholes Reservoir in Eastern Washington:

As mid-April rapidly approaches spring is in the air.

We are enjoying having some kiddos here at the resort this week with some schools having spring break. We have seen some nice trout from some of the April 1 opening lakes.

The Hampton Lakes have been reported to be pretty slow on opening day. Hutchinson and Shiner are hot spots for early season bass and bluegill.

Lind Coulee walleye fishing remains tough. This will change any day now with our changing weather. Don’t miss the post spawn walleye bite. We are hearing the beginning action but it has only been fair to slow.

Upcoming events:

April 21-22: Potholes Open Bass Tournament

April 28: One-day Bow Fishing Carp Tourney

May 5-6: Rod Meseberg Spring Walleye Classic (A CWFAC Event)

May 19-20: The MarDon Open Bass Tournament (A CWFAC Event)

June 16-17: Washington Bow Fishing Championship

For details, call MarDon Resort at 800-416-2736 or visit the MarDon Resort’s website.
