More local lakes planted with trout this week to boost fishing action

Just took a look at the latest trout plants by state Fish and Wildlife into local year-round lakes:

All these lakes were planted on Wednesday, April 18: Gissburg Ponds in Snohomish County, 2,552 trout; Green Lake in North Seattle, 3,081 (442 averaging 1.5 pounds apiece); Kress Lake in Cowlitz County, 4,000; Lake Sawyer in King County, 490 averaging 1.5 pounds apiece; and Rattlesnake Lake, 204 averaging 1.5 pounds apiece.

For more statewide plants go to the state Fish and Wildlife website.

Note before you go to a lake:

Be sure to check the regulation pamphlet as not all the lakes being planted are open year-round, and you can’t fish some until the traditional lowland lakes statewide opener on April 28.
