Those who planned on going salmon fishing at the Tulalip Bay Bubble Fishery will now have to wait two extra weeks.
According to state Fish and Wildlife the delay allows the Tulalip Tribes to conduct ceremonial and subsistence fisheries.
The Tulalip terminal fishery will now open Friday, May 18; originally it was supposed to Friday, May 4.
While there will be a delay the Tulalip terminal area will still open two weeks earlier than past years.
When it opens fishing will be allowed Fridays through noon Mondays until Sept. 3, but closed on June 9 only. Then from Sept. 8-23 it will be open only Saturdays and Sundays only.
Anglers may also purchase a two-pole salmon endorsement when fishing in the Tulalip terminal area from June 10 to Sept. 23.
