Nik Autrey of Washington B.A.S.S. Federation takes first place in Jr. Bassmaster tournament

It was a good time for Team Washington who took second place overall last week during the Junior Bassmaster competition at the 2012 Cabela’s Bassmaster Federation Nation Western Divisional at Wyoming’s Flaming Gorge.

Nik Autrey of Washington B.A.S.S. Federation took first place in the 15-18 age division with five bass that weighed 11 pounds, 5 ounces, including one fish that weighed 2 pounds.

Autrey edged out Ethan Peterson of Idaho who took second place with five bass that weighed 10 pounds, 5 ounces.

It was a Pacific Northwest sweep in the top three with Jacob Wall of Oregon taking four bass that totaled 5 pounds, 12 ounces.

In the 11-14 age division Tyler Evans of Montana took first place with five fish that weighed 6 pounds, 9 ounces. Tristan Decker of Washington took fourth place with five fish totaling 5 pounds, 12 ounces; and in ninth place was Logan Meredith of Washington with one fish that weighed 1 pound, one ounce.

Autrey advances to the 2012 Bassmaster Junior World Championship in Decatur, Alabama on Oct. 25-27.
