Skykomish River opens for hatchery chinook beginning Saturday

The Skykomish River will open for hatchery chinook beginning this Saturday, July 14 through Aug. 15 from mouth to Wallace River mouth.

Early returns to the Wallace River Hatchery indicate that the hatchery run size is stronger than forecasted, and spawning goals will be achieved with a fishery in place.

Daily limit is two hatchery chinook, minimum size 12 inches in length from the mouth to the Lewis Street Bridge in Monroe. Beginning Aug. 1 there will be a night closure and anti-snagging rules in effect.
