Two sections of northern coast to close Thursday to all sport bottomfishing

All sport fishing for rockfish, lingcod, Pacific cod and all other bottomfish closes after Thursday, July 26 off the North Coast at La Push and portion west of the Bonilla-Tatoosh line off Neah Bay.

This is to protect yelloweye rockfish that are a federally protected fish species.

Fishing seasons for most bottomfish species are generally open year-round off the coast. The closure affects only those two areas, and bottomfishing regulations remain the same in other coastal locations.
