Lower Columbia River Buoy 10 chinook catch rates remain fairly decent

Here are the latest Lower Columbia River mouth at Buoy-10 salmon catches:

State Fish and Wildlife estimates about 45-percent of the allocated 13,900 chinook had been caught through Sunday, Aug. 19.

July 30 to Aug. 5: 1,268 anglers caught 98 chinook and 35 hatchery coho for catch rate of 0.08 for chinook and 0.03 for hatchery coho and an overall salmon catch of 0.11.

Aug. 6-12: 5,465 anglers caught 1,914 chinook and 171 hatchery coho for catch rate of 0.35 for chinook and 0.03 for hatchery coho and an overall salmonc catch of 0.38.

Aug. 13-19: 14,237 anglers caught 4,282 chinook and 421 hatchery coho for catch rate of 0.30 for chinook and 0.03 for hatchery coho and an overall salmon catch of 0.33.

Season totals: 20,977 anglers caught 6,296 chinook and 627 hatchery coho.

Season sport catch quotas are 13,900 chinook and 8,000 hatchery coho.
