It may be back to school time, but don’t give up on Potholes Reservoir fishing

Here is the latest Potholes Reservoir fishing report from Nick Barr at MarDon Resort:

Back to school for everyone does not mean it is time to put up the fishing rods and winterize the boat! The Potholes Recreation area is an amazing place to play during the fall weekends. Potholes Reservoir is providing serious perch anglers amazing action.

The mouth of Frenchman’s Wasteway & Crab Creek, along with the Lind Coulee Arm are chocked full of most species of fish this time of year. The next two months are hailed as the best fishing of the year on Potholes Reservoir for any species you are after. The water level is currently at 1,029 feet, about 17 feet below full pool.

Rainbow Trout action continues to produce good numbers of 3lb-4lb. Rainbow at the mouth of Lind Coulee near the east end of O’Sullivan Dam. Topwater bass fishing with Rebel Pop-R and many other surface lures are providing anglers with 30 fish bass outings along the rockpiles on the south end of the lake, and the Lind Coulee arm can produce big Smallmouth this time of year.
