Potholes Reservoir perch action comes alive

Here is the latest Potholes Reservoir fishing report from Nick Barr and Mike Meseberg at MarDon Resort:

Something good is happening on Potholes Reservoir.

Perch fishing seems to having a come-back! Reports of perch action from all over Potholes Reservoir have been even more frequent this past week.

MarDon store keeper Greg Bafus, had heard a tip about perch at Medicare Beach. He explored Medicare Beach concentrating on water 21 feet deep water using a spinner and a night crawler trolling and still fishing with lead on the bottom and two hooks baited with crawlers. Both techniques worked for perch action.

2012 MarDon Dock Tournament

Dick Hemore and Lee Dowers served as official weigh-masters for the 2012 Tournament. The weigh masters reported more Perch, Bullheads and especially Rainbow Trout caught than in the past years.

At 11am on Sunday competition ends and a happy but tired group enjoyed Willie’s famous barbequed ribs and chicken along with a fun potluck for all fishers and their families.
