Anglers in the Lower Hanford Reach area can now keep hatchery steelhead

The Lower Hanford Reach area of the Columbia River is now open for hatchery steelhead.

The open area includes a section from Highway 395 upstream to old Hanford townsite wooden powerline towers.

Daily limit is two hatchery steelhead with a minimum size of 20 inches. Release wild steelhead.

The Lower Hanford Reach will remain open for hatchery steelhead fishing after Oct. 31 as listed in the regulation pamphlet (Page 74) and will stay open through March 31.
