The Washington Fly Fishing Club is offering three classes to help anglers on fly tying and casting.
There is an eight-week Beginning Fly-Tying Class that will be held every Thursday from Jan. 3 through Feb. 21. Classes are held from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Mercer Island Covenant Church, 3200 78th S.E. on Mercer Island.
Anglers will learn to tie 15 Northwest trout fly patterns, as well as receive personal instruction on common fly tying skills.
Cost is $50 for the class and a DVD, which shows close-ups of the flies being tied is also available for $10. Tool and material kits are also available for purchase if needed. For details, call 253-350-5085.
The six-week Beginning Fly-Casting Class will be held every Thursday from April 4 through May 9. Classes are held from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Green Lake Casting Pier in North Seattle.
The class is taught by Federation of Fly Fishing Certified Casting Instructors helped by other WFFC members. Cost is $50, and limited to 36 fly anglers. For details, call 206-356-4180.
The Advanced Fly-Casting Class is four weekly sessions starting April 3 through April 24 from 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Green Lake Casting Pier in North Seattle.
The class is taught by WFFC members and all are Federation of Fly Fishing Certified Casting Instructors. Cost is $50, and limited to 10 fly anglers. For details, call 206-356-4180.
