Congratulations to Loren Brodland of Marysville who is this week’s Reel Time Trivia winner.

The trivia question of the week was:

These two ponds located north of Marysville cover a total of 15-acres, and while it’s not one of the most peaceful places to fish with the roaring sounds of cars traveling on nearby I-5 they’re both heavily stocked with rainbow trout.

The park is managed by Snohomish County and has nice picnic areas with both ponds open year-round, one of which is for juvenile (kids under age 15) fishing only. They all get stocked several times a year with the bulk being planted in spring and early summer. If the fish aren’t biting you can always pack up the gear, and make a shopping trip to nearby to Costco or Target.

The correct answer Brodland gave was Gissberg Ponds (aka Twin Lakes).

“I grew up on the shoreline (and) I’m 55 and have been fishing as long as I can remember,” Brodland said. “I fish for salmon in Puget Sound, and love fishing Ross Lake for native rainbows.”

Brodland wins a nice outdoors prize.

This will be an ongoing weekly trivia contest where the winner who answers the question first will receive an outdoor prize that will range from books, Berkley bait, lures and other nifty items from the outdoors gunnysack.

The next trivia question will posted on Monday, Jan. 14. Winners are announced the following Friday.
