Nooksack River will close to all fishing beginning Thursday

The Kendall Hatchery on the Nooksack River is not meeting fish escapement goals, which has lead state Fish and Wildlife to announce an emergency closure to all fishing beginning Thursday, Jan. 17 through Jan. 31.

The section that will be closed is from the yellow post located at the upstream-most corner of the hatchery grounds, approximately 1,000 feet upstream of the mouth of Kendall Creek, downstream to the Mosquito Lake Road Bridge.

The fishery in the closed area will reopen Feb. 1 to fishing.
