Reel Time Trivia winner hails from Auburn
Congratulations to Allen Ricks of Auburn who is this week’s Reel Time Trivia winner.
The trivia question of the week was:
This 149-acre lake just east of Kent is heavily stocked with rainbow trout and kokanee fry, and lures a lot of anglers during the spring and summer. Largemouth bass can also be found here, and the county park has a huge pier system where anglers can find plenty of room to fish from with getting in the way of each other.
Since motors are allowed on the lake it is often best fished in the early morning hours before the jet skiers and water skiers start plowing through the waterway in the summer. Last year it got a plant of 15,700 catchable-sized trout from March to June, plus another 654 in April and May.
The correct answer Ricks gave was Lake Meridian.
“Had started fishing with my grandpa, as I grew older I moved to Alaska and sport fished there for nearly 15 years,” Ricks said.
“Liked the Kenai area, Homer, and Seward.”
“After living back in Washington, favorite spots are Riffe Lake or Sammamish, and lately, most is done from a green Coleman canoe. Now, fishing seems even more important for my children and grandkids, than for myself. Simply passing on the tradition.”
Ricks wins a nice outdoors prize.
We are taking a short hiatus for the next trivia question, and plan to restart it this coming spring.
Here are our rules for The Seattle Times contest.
