Latest fishing report from Potholes Reservoir region
Here is a report from Levi Meseberg with MarDon Resort in the Potholes Reservoir of Eastern Washington:
Remember April 1st is the opener for all of the lakes on the National Wildlife Refuge with the exception of Warden Lake which opens April 27th. Gas motors are NOT allowed on any National Wildlife Refuge Lakes.
Most of these lakes are Trout Lakes, one area of highlight is the Hutchinson Shinner Lakes, which is a warm water species project lake. Hutchinson Lake has quality Crappie, Bluegill, and Largemouth Bass up to 7lbs. This is a great place for learning to fly fish for warm water species with a float tube or canoe.
Rainbow action continues for bank fisherman on Potholes Reservoir using Powerbait, Pautskier’s Eggs and other typical Spring Time Trout bait.
As our days and nights begin to warm we can only expect some better bass and walleye fishing but as of today it is still very slow.
On Saturday, March 30th we do host an Easter Egg Hunt at MarDon Resort. The Egg Hunt starts at 10 am sharp so we recommend arriving 15 minutes early. We have 4 different age division and a live Easter Bunny for a photo Opp. Please park and meet in the large grass area behind the Beach House for the Egg Hunt.
The Beach House at MarDon is serving Easter Sunday Brunch from 9am-1pm with a full menu option and the brunch special is:
Dock Side Benedict for $11 & Homemade Corned Beef Hash and Eggs $10
Easter Sunday Dinner Special
