Coastal beach clean up help needed on April 20

Washington CoastSavers is hosting a coastal beach clean up on Saturday, April 20 – in conjunction with Earth Day— and looking for volunteers to help pick up and remove marine debris.

There are many harmful materials that wash up on coastal beaches including styrofoam, nylon rope, plastic bottles and other artificial items that are harmful to wildlife who ingest it.

There are 40 beaches along coast from Neah Bay to the Columbia River where help is needed.

This year, Global Diving and Salvage of Seattle has donated more than 1,000 heavy duty bags for the clean up on the northern coast to ease transportation difficulties.

More support also came from the Grays Harbor and North Pacific County Marine Resource Committees. For details, go to
