State Parks looking for boating angler or hunter to serve on safety advisory council
Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission is looking for an experienced hunter or angler who uses a boat to serve on the Boating Safety Advisory Council.
Deadline for submitting applications is May 8. The appointment will be made at the end of this month, and the person will serve a term through Dec. 31, 2015.
The Boating Safety Advisory Council assists and advises the commission on the administration of its Boating Safety Program, which provides information and education on safe and environmentally sound boating practices to agencies, organizations and individuals statewide.
The council meets four times a year (remaining meetings this year are May 16, Sept. 26, and Nov. 21) from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the State Parks’ Headquarters Building, 1111 Israel Road S.W. in Tumwater. Members are reimbursed for travel and other expenses when attending council meetings.
