The final scheduled coastal razor clam dig at Twin Harbors is Tuesday, May 14, and success over this past weekend both there and at Long Beach was excellent.
“We had a good weekend and moderate sized crowds,” said Dan Ayres, the head state Fish and Wildlife coastal shellfish manager. “It was easy clam digging and lot of (15-clam daily) limits at Long Beach and Twin Harbors.”
“This morning (Monday, May 13), there was light crowds at Twin Harbors, and they were still getting clams easily.”
Ayres says once the final dig is complete they’ll assess the numbers, and Twin Harbors might get another two-day dig but all depends on what remains in the total sport allotment.
