Kids Fishing Camp happening next month in Seattle

The Seattle Parks and Recreation at Magnuson Community Center in Seattle is hosting the Nick Barr Fishing Camp for youth ages 8 to 17 from July 16-18.

Barr who is owner of the Washington Bass Adventures Guide Service, president of Eastern Washington University Sportsman’s Club and on the Board of Directors for Inland N.W. Wildlife Council will teach basic instruction for beginning anglers. Learn about fishing and the equipment; different techniques; learn how to cast and tie fishing knots; experience handling a live fish; and learn how to rig the line with bait.

Camp will be held on shores of Lake Washington from 9 a.m. to noon, and 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. on the last day at the Green Lake fishing dock. Campers will get their own rod, reel, and tackle to use and keep.
