Two eastside salmon derbies coming up soon
Here is the latest fishing report from Dave Graybill, longtime Eastern Washington outdoor radio host and angler:
It’s not too early to talk about the two salmon derbies that are held on the upper Columbia. If you want to get a team together and arrange for lodging and such, now is the time to do it.
Both the CCA Wenatchee Salmon Derby and the Budweiser-Lowrance King Salmon Derby in Brewster are very well run, and not only offer big cash prizes, but great fun as well.
The CCA Wenatchee Derby is coming up on July 19th through the 21st, with a big banquet on that Sunday night. Fishing has already been good in the Wenatchee area and there will be a lot more fish here by then. To get all the details and a registration form go to the web site at www.wenatcheesalmonderby.com.
The 8th Annual Budweiser-Lowrance King Salmon Derby will be held on August 2nd through the 4th this year. The catch ratio at this derby is the best for any salmon derby anywhere, and it is famous for treating its participants the best of any derby, too.
Conditions should be perfect for good king fishing in the Brewster Pool and there are big cash prizes and heaps of other stuff to be given away. You can sign up for this one on line by going to the derby web site at www.brewstersalmonderby.com.
