Coastal Conservation Association hosted two derbies this past weekend
The CCA Wenatchee Salmon Derby was held this past weekend on the Columbia River with 30 fish weighed-in during the three-day event.
Tyler Anderson’s 22-pound, 6 ounce gutted king salmon took top honors and earned him $2,000. A second place prize of $1,750 went to Michael Minton, and Richard Stevens took home a third place prize of $1,500.
In the total boat weight division, Jonathan Stavenjord had 44-pounds, 3-ounces of gutted king salmon and earned $1,750. Second was Mike Roth for $1,500; and third was Bob Shelton who took home $1,250.
Also last weekend was the three-day CCA Steelhead Challenge on the Lower Columbia at Longview.
More than 50 anglers weighed-in more than 30 fish at the Kalama weigh station, and the first place fish was caught by CCA member Leon Stevenson at 12.45 pounds gutted.
Many more fish were caught, but the most were wild steelhead.
