Potholes Reservoir region hitting peak summer fishing

Here is a report from Mike Meseberg with MarDon Resort in the Potholes Reservoir of Eastern Washington:

As we approach mid-August fishing on Potholes Reservoir continues to amaze our guests.

Rainbow fishing has been exciting both for bank fishing and trolling.

Many rainbow trout over 20 inches are being reported from Medicare Beach and at the mouth of Frenchman’s Wasteway where it enters the reservoir at Potholes State Park.  Perch fishing is the best we have seen in two decades and our crappie population has shown a positive increase.

Fishermen are reporting many more yellow bullhead, brown bullhead, and channel catfish than over family has seen in our 40 years at MarDon Resort.

Goose Island has been the best action for walleye again this week.

Upcoming MarDon Events:

August 24: Lake Poker Run and Beach Party

August 30-Sept. 2: Labor Day Weekend

August 31: Annual Yard Sale

Sept. 5-8: Skagen.com Jet Boat Rally

Sept. 13-15: Dock Tourney and Pot Luck
