Anglers need to pay attention of fishing closure dates on Puyallup River
Those planning on hitting the waters of the Puyallup River need to be aware of closure dates as to not conflict with tribal gillnetting.
The majority of anglers have obeyed the rules, but some have received warnings this past week for fishing the Puyallup downriver from the White River mouth on closed days.
Here are dates the Puyallup River below the White River mouth is closed: Sept. 8-10; Sept. 15-17; Sept. 22-25; and Sept. 29-30.
State and tribal fishery managers are working on fishing schedules for October through December.
