State Fish and Wildlife volunteers in conjunction with Joint Base Lewis-McChord, and local Pheasants Forever is hosting a Fall Youth Pheasant Hunt this weekend, Sept. 21-22 on JBLM/Ft. Lewis training areas.

Volunteers will be releasing about 350 pheasants during the two-day hunt.  The Youth Hunt is open to all licensed hunters age 16-and-under.

The hunt is regulated for safety and sportsmanship. Pheasants Forever will also be providing a free lunch.

All hunters will need a valid Washington State hunting license and Westside pheasant harvest card. All hunters must also be registered with the Ft Lewis hunter-registration program which is run by the Northwest Adventure Center. For details, call the Adventure Center at 253-967-8260 or Bill Ostrander at 253-847-3979.
