Brad Hole with Kayak Fishing Washington has been reporting some fairly good cutthroat action in Lake Washington.

“My buddy and I are still catching big cutthroat trout in Lake Washington,” Hole said. “This may be due to the large amounts of bait we saw in the lake this past summer.”

Hole has caught several cutthroat that were 20 inches or longer mixed in with an occasional smallmouth bass.

Hole has been releasing almost all the cutthroat trout, but kept the 21-inch fish he caught on Thursday.

Holes says Number 2 Needlefish spoons in rainbow trout and brass bikini color have worked great as have Cop Car colored Apex Trout Killers.

“Many of the fish are in less than 30 feet of water,” he said.
