Approval of next coastal razor clam digs will likely be announced Tuesday

Word on the next series of coastal razor clam digs should be known by Tuesday, Nov. 12, which are set to begin this coming Friday, Nov. 15.

Earlier this past week, Dan Ayres, the head state Fish and Wildlife coastal shellfish manager didn’t anticipate any issues with marine toxins for the next upcoming dig series.

Digging has been excellent since the fall season began back in late September with diggers averaging close to a 15 clam daily limit.

The next digs are scheduled Friday and Saturday, Nov. 15-16 at Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Copalis and Mocrocks; Sunday, Nov. 17 at Long Beach, Twin Harbors and Mocrocks; and Nov. 18-20 at Twin Harbors. Digging is open from noon to midnight each day.

Here are the additional dates going into the winter holiday period:

Dec. 1, Sunday, 5:13 pm; -0.9 feet; Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Mocrocks

Dec. 3, Tuesday, 6:44 pm; -1.7 feet; Long Beach, Twin Harbors, Mocrocks

Dec. 4, Wednesday, 7:30 pm; -1.7 feet; Long Beach, Twin Harbors

Dec. 5, Thursday, 8:17 pm; -1.4 feet; Twin Harbors

Dec. 6, Friday, 9:05 pm; -1.0 feet; Twin Harbors
