State Fish and Wildlife Western Washington river fish checks

Bogachiel/Quillayute River — Dec. 9-12: Seven bank anglers and 24 boat anglers caught 21 steelhead for a total of 187.0 hours fished; Dec. 13-15: 92 bank anglers and 41 boat anglers caught 22 steelhead, and released six steelhead, seven cutthroat trout and one coho for a total of 581.0 hours fished.

Calawah River — Dec. 9-12: Five bank anglers caught no fish for a total of 5.0 hours fished; Dec. 13-15: 11 bank anglers caught seven steelhead, and released two steelhead, one coho and six whitefish for a total of 36.5 hours fished.

Sol Duc River — Dec. 9-12: No fishing effort; Dec. 13-15: 10 bank anglers and four boat anglers released four steelhead and 12 coho for a total of 57.0 hours fished.

Lower Hoh River from Oxbow Campground to Barlow’s — Dec. 9-12: 16 bank anglers and 22 boat anglers caught 20 steelhead, and released one steelhead, 22 bull trout and two coho for a total of 175.5 hours fished; Dec. 13-15: 88 bank anglers and 81 boat anglers caught 31 steelhead, and released three steelhead, 11 bull trout, three whitefish, three Chinook, two cutthroat trout and one coho for a total of 613.5 hours fished.

Upper Hoh River from Barlow’s to Olympic National Park Boundary — Dec. 9-12: One bank angler and two boat anglers released two steelhead, 12 whitefish and two cutthroat trout for a total of 19.0 hours fished; Dec. 13-15: 10 bank anglers and 12 boat anglers released two steelhead, 10  bull trout and 17 whitefish for a total of 95.5 hours fished.

Cowlitz River — Dec. 9-15: 231 bank anglers caught three coho and 15 steelhead, and released one chum and 12 cutthroat trout; 75 boat anglers caught 18 steelhead and released one.

Kalama River — Dec. 9-15: 62 bank anglers caught two steelhead, and released one coho and four steelhead; 19 boat anglers released one coho and two steelhead.

Lewis River mainstem — Dec. 9-15: Nine bank anglers caught one steelhead.

Lewis River North Fork — Dec. 9-15: 69 bank anglers caught three coho, and released one Chinook; 27 boat anglers caught 10 Chinook, four coho  and two steelhead, and released one Chinook and two coho.

Washougal River — Dec. 9-15: 81 bank anglers caught five steelhead; 59 boat anglers caught 25 steelhead and released one Chinook.
