Clam digging closes at Point Whitney Tidelands in Hood Canal

The sport clam season is now closed until further notice at the Point Whitney Tidelands (excluding Point Whitney Lagoon) in Hood Canal.

State Fish and Wildlife has determined that the clam population has waned on this small beach located is located in Jefferson County near Brinnon.

The lagoon located behind the cyclone fence, remains open for clamming through March 15. The oyster gathering season at Point Whitney Tidelands remains open Jan. 1 through June 30.
