Sidley Lake will be ice fishing central Feb. 15 with lots of fun festivities

6838585393_759a0ec46cThe deep winter chill has come back to Eastern Washington and should boost ice fishing action.

Many looking forward to the Northwest Ice Fishing Festival Feb. 15 on Sidley Lake, just east of Oroville and just south of the Canadian border.

Activities include arts and crafts; snow shoe, alpine and cross-country skiing and snowboarding at Sitzmark Ski Area; snowmobile rental at Highland Snow Park; pancake breakfast provided by the Molson Grange; and a dinner fundraiser for the Sitzmark Ski Area.

Daily limit is two fish, and most are trout around 12 inches with some up to 4 pounds.

Registration is 7 a.m. at the Molson Grange Hall, and the derby is 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Cost is $20 adults, and $14 for youth 14 and under. Details: 509-485-4002 or 509-476-2739 or www.edenvalleyranch.net.
