Coastal razor clam digs begin Wednesday, and outlook is very good

20razor2013Time to break out the shovel or clam gun, and head to the coastal beaches for what is expected to be another excellent series of digs beginning Wednesday.

The next dates are: Wednesday, Feb. 26, minus-0.4 feet at 4:15 p.m. at Twin Harbors; Thursday, Feb. 27, -0.7 at 5:04 p.m. at Twin Harbors, Long Beach and Mocrocks; Friday, Feb. 28, -0.8 at 5:49 p.m. at Twin Harbors, Long Beach and Mocrocks; Saturday, March 1, -0.7 at 6:32 p.m. at Twin Harbors, Long Beach, Mocrocks and Copalis; Sunday, March 2, -0.3 at 7:13 p.m. at Twin Harbors, Long Beach and Mocrocks; and Monday, March 3, plus-0.3 at 7:53 p.m. at Twin Harbors. Digging is open from noon to midnight only.

The Long Beach Razor Clam Festival will also be held April 19-20. Details: http://longbeachrazorclamfestival.com/.

More opportunities are planned well into April, and possibly May. Final approval will usually be announced about a week prior to each series of digs.
