Sportsman Warehouse in Federal Way is hosting a May 4 fly-casting class

The Sportsman Warehouse in Federal Way is hosting The Fundamentals of Fly Casting Class 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, May 4.

The class will introduce anglers to the fundamentals of fly-casting including instruction, demonstration and practice on local waters.

Learn about equipment, the theory of casting, leaders and knots, plus rod assembly and care, stance, hook removal, as well as various casting techniques.

Instructor is Darrel Martin, Contributing Editor to Fly Rod & Reel magazine and certified casting instructor by the Federation of Fly-Fishers (USA) and the Advanced Professional Game Angling Instructors (UK) and shop staff.

Participants should have the following equipment: raingear, brimmed hat, and protective eyewear, and rod, reel and line. The store will have free day-loan equipment available.

Cost is $50 cash only, and a partial payment of $30 will reserve a spot. For details, call 253-835-4100.
