Here is the latest fishing report from Dave Graybill, longtime Eastern Washington outdoor radio host and angler:
It’s the biggest weekend of the year for anglers all over the state, and particularly Central Washington.
Something like 400,000 anglers will be hitting the water for the annual lowland lake opener, and a very high percentage of them head over here to the many great trout lakes we have in the region. Early last week I saw RVs parked along the highway at Blue Lake, saving a spot for opening weekend, it was still eleven days away!
I want to remind everyone to dig out your punch card from last year’s salmon and steelhead season and send them into Olympia. The address is right on the card. They are due by the end of the month.
I also want to remind everyone that there is still time to register for the Triple Fish Challenge at Banks Lake. You can also register at Coulee Playland early on Saturday morning. If you are planning to fish over here for the opening weekend you may want to give Banks Lake a try.
Fishing has been good for trout, bass and walleye, and you may win some of the cash and prizes being handed out at the derby. Visit www.grandcouleedam.org for the details.
