Northern coast and Westport near-shore halibut fisheries winding down

La Push and Neah Bay will get two more days to fish for halibut on Thursday, May 22, and Saturday, May 24.

State Fish and Wildlife expects the 108,030-pound area sport catch quota will be achieved by then.

The near shore fishery off Westport will also close Wednesday, May 21, and the offshore fishery close on Sunday, May 18.

In open areas the daily limit is on halibut with no minimum size limit. Anglers may possess a maximum of two fish in any form and must record their catch on their catch record card.
