Anglers will now have more liberal daily catch limits for sockeye in the Columbia River mainstem above the Highway 395 Bridge in Pasco.
The daily limit will be increased to eight salmon and up to six adult sockeye in the Columbia River above Priest Rapids Dam.
The limit change will take effect from Hwy. 395 Bridge at Pasco to Priest Rapids Dam from Tuesday, July 15 through July 31; from Priest Rapids Dam to Wanapum Dam now through Aug. 31; from Wanapum Dam to Wells Dam now through Oct. 15; from Wells Dam to Hwy. 173 Bridge in Brewster on Wednesday, July 16 through Aug. 31; and from Hwy. 173 Bridge in Brewster to Chief Joseph Dam now through Oct. 15.
A record return is now heading up the Columbia and more than 574,219 have headed up past Bonneville Dam through Sunday, July 13.
The minimum size limit is 12 inches. Release coho and wild adult Chinook, and release all sockeye with colored anchor (floy) tag attached.
