The Lower Columbia Buoy-10 Salmon Challenge hosted by the Northwest Sportfishing Industry Association is Aug. 21-22 at Warrior Hall at Camp Rilea in Warrenton, Oregon.

This year more than 2.5 millon salmon will be flooding into the big river including a possible record king return.

Cost is $100 per person. Biggest king is worth $1,000 and largest coho is worth $500.

The tournament fishery will be limited to areas between Buoy 10 and the upper end of Rice Island. Ocean fishing is off-limits.

Tournament participants will receive a t-shirt, dinner, and team and individual prizes. Fish caught can be donated to the CCA Regional Food Bank courtesy of the Pacific Coast Seafood, NSIA and Buoy 10 participants.

Weigh in is between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m. with an awards banquet to follow with silent auction and raffle drawings.
