Benny1Salmon

The daily catch limit for kings off Westport will go from one to two beginning Monday, Aug. 18, and now comes in line with other coastal ports of La Push and Neah Bay.

Those fishing at Ilwaco will still be allowed to catch one chinook in a two salmon daily limit.

Only hatchery coho may be kept at all coastal ports, and fishing has been going very strong will millions of salmon streaming past the coast.

From Aug. 4-10, Ilwaco anglers averaged 0.19 for chinook and 1.47 for hatchery coho and 1.66 overall; Westport anglers averaged 0.46 for chinook and 0.78 for hatchery coho and 1.24 overall; La Push anglers averaged 0.21 for chinook and 1.23 for hatchery coho and 1.44 overall; and Neah Bay anglers averaged 0.37 for chinook and 0.53 for hatchery coho and 0.90 overall.

Ilwaco and Westport are open daily through Sept. 30; and La Push and Neah Bay are open through Sept. 21. There is a bubble fishery at La Push from Sept. 27 through Oct. 12.
