Luhr Beach ramp to be closed for boating access this coming week

The Luhr’s Landing water-access site near Olympia west of the Nisqually National Wildlife Refuge in southern Puget Sound will be closed Aug. 18-23 for roadwork on the road and driveway leading into the popular southern Puget Sound boat ramp facility.

Work crews from Thurston County Public Works will be paving the driveway and a section of the road after replacing a failed culvert at the intersection earlier this month.

State Fish and Wildlife says this will be the final time the site will be closed for boating access. On-going work will occur this fall but the ramp and facility will remain open.
