Priest Rapids Pool fall chinook fishery opens two day earlier than expected

The fall chinook fishing season at Priest Rapids Pool will open sooner than expected that will allow anglers a chance to fish during the three-day Labor Day weekend.

Anglers can begin wetting a line from Aug. 30 (one hour before official sunrise) on the Columbia River from Priest Rapids Dam to Wanapum Dam.

The daily limit is six chinook only, and only two may be adult fish. All other rules for Columbia River apply, including barbless hooks. Those with the two pole endorsement are allowed to fish through Aug. 31 only.
